One apple is really all you need

This year our apple tree gave us one apple.
Red, shiney, beautiful.
But all alone on a solitary branch.
Not our best crop ever.
This year however, Lilian was big enough to pick that apple off the tree by herself.
Cue immeasurable joy.
Ours, not hers.
She was too busy eating it.

There was only one apple.
But it was the right apple.
At the right height.
At the right time.
Sometimes it turns out that one apple is really all you need.
